Installation and Performance "no longer hurt" for "Dream Gap"
dedicated to Femicides
Installation with sound & performance with the music by Anthony Palaskas , dur: 7,16 min , Poem by Nevi Kaninia. 40 white paper shoes ascend from the ground, gradually climbing the wall, tracing a fragile yet determined path from earth to heaven. Crafted from paper, their delicate material mirrors the transience and vulnerability of existence. The shoes are stark white—a color embodying innocence, purification, and the hope of spiritual transcendence. Each shoe stands as a silent memorial, representing a woman who fled violently from life, a victim of femicide, tortured by the cruelty of the other sex. From every shoe, red threads unravel—threads of blood, of suffering, of untold stories—visibly connecting past pain to the present moment. The installation comprises 40 shoes, marking the 40 days traditionally believed to signify the soul’s passage from this world to the next. It becomes a ritual space, where the viewer is invited to reflect on violence, memory and release. During the Performance I am knitting the dates of the deaths, in Germany for 2024 and 2025 until March.......
First time exhibited at "Dream Gap" Group exhibition ,curated by Georgina Magklara in Belrin.
