Solo Exhbition "into my garden come"
St. Marienkirche
St. Mary`s Church is Frankfurt Oder`s former main church. Built from 1253 and onwards, this sacred building is a five-aisled hall church. It is considered one of the most outstanding examples of Northern German Brick Gothic architecture and functions today as a museum.
I was honoured to have my personal exhibition in this heritage monument and my artworks as Female bodies/costumes float in space resembling ethereal presences like spirits, connecting the divine with the earthly, offering a contemplative space.
A journey into the inner world and the female psyche through poetic installations, sounds and forms. The exhibition is dedicated to women and their personal and social freedom—regardless of their background or reality.
Within the sacred walls of St. Mary`s Church in Frankfurt (Oder), the exhibition entitled "Into My Garden Come" invites visitors to immerse themselves into the multifaceted experiences of women—in their strength, vulnerability, hope and creativity in dealing with life`s challenges. The multimedia installations and interactive formats help to awaken sensual emotions, broaden perspectives and promote dialogue.
Installations of female bodies/ costumes, spreading messages deeply concerned with the inequalities, in a world fraught with patriarchy, conflict and heedless consumerism.
In the poetry installations, my voice is combined with haunting soundscapes that invade the space, whispers, accuses, unravels... During the visit to the exhibition, various installations can also be experienced with recorded audios and films.
The materials I used by upcycling and reconstructing with a particular focus on the environment, especially with regard to paper and plastic waste.
