Psychokores
Psychokores, Three sculptures, three ethereal beings, which we see floating. Their stories are reflected in the details of the fabric, which I have created specifically from paper, cotton, and white gauze.
The white color refers to innocence, purity, and hope. The paper and cotton, as delicate materials, reflect the temporality and fragility of life. The gauze suggests wounds but also their care.
Each sculpture/outfit carries a story full of painful memories. They could be wedding dresses; instead, they are the dresses of girls given into the service of wealthier families, with the hope of being included in the family as daughters.
